Appeal a denied firearm license application
If your application for a firearm license has been denied, you can use this service to appeal the decision.
Who can submit an appeal
Anyone whose application for a firearm license has been denied and wishes to appeal.
What you need
- The completed appeal form, signed by a lawyer confirming the contents.
- You can attach a detailed letter with supporting documents to support your claim.
The service is free of charge.
How to appeal
- Download and print out the appeal application form.
- Complete it by hand and send it with the required documents to the Firearms Licensing Depratment Service Center.
Notes
- You can only file an appeal after the application is denied by the licensing clerk.
- The supervisor’s decision will be given within 45 days of receiving the appeal.
- The supervisor’s decision is final and any appeal against it must be filed through the courts.
- The appeal will be discussed based on the documents attached to the application form.
- You can request to attend your appeal hearing, at the discretion of the supervisor.
