Appeal a denied firearm license application

If your application for a firearm license has been denied, you can use this service to appeal the decision.

Anyone whose application for a firearm license has been denied and wishes to appeal.

The completed appeal form, signed by a lawyer confirming the contents.
You can attach a detailed letter with supporting documents to support your claim.

Download and print out the appeal application form.
Complete it by hand and send it with the required documents to the Firearms Licensing Depratment Service Center.

You can only file an appeal after the application is denied by the licensing clerk.
The supervisor’s decision will be given within 45 days of receiving the appeal.
The supervisor’s decision is final and any appeal against it must be filed through the courts.
The appeal will be discussed based on the documents attached to the application form.
You can request to attend your appeal hearing, at the discretion of the supervisor.
