Renew a personal firearm license

Use this service to renew a personal firearm license before it expires.

The license holder must meet one of the valid criteria according to the published criteria list (Heb).
You can renew a personal firearm license from three months before it expires and up to the expiry date.
You need to pay the license renewal fee before it can be renewed.

Three months before the license expiry date you will receive a text message or email reminding you to renew the license. It is your responsibility to renew your firearm license. You must complete the renewal process before your license expires.
Pay the license renewal fee - NIS 61 per year or part of a year. You must print and keep the payment confirmation for the rest of the process.
After paying the license renewal fee (paragraph 2) print the license renewal forms, including:
- Health declaration: your family doctor must sign the health declaration.
- Declaration of meeting the criterion.
- Temporary license
- Confirmation of training (to be completed at the shooting range)
- Firearm check form confirming that the firearm is in good working order, and verification of details (to be completed at the shooting range).
Take all the documents listed in paragraph 3 to the shooting range, together with your confirmation of fee payment, firearm, ammunition and magazines, to:
- verify the details
- check that the firearm is in good working condition
- undergo suitable training.

Reservists with an ‘Active Reservist’ card are entitled to a 50 percent discount on the license fee, on condition that the license is renewed by the date specified.
Owners of firearms must have a valid license. If your license has expired for any reason, you must surrender your firearm, the license, ammunition and magazines at a police station.

On arrival at the shooting range, you must submit the confirmation of payment and the required documents to the manager in order to verify details and receive training. If you have lost the payment confirmation, you can print out a copy.
Your license photo will be taken at the shooting range.
Your temporary license, (received online, from a post office or at the licensing office), will only become valid after it has been signed by the shooting range. The temporary license is valid for the whole license period.
The permanent license will be sent to the postal address you gave, once the license renewal process has been completed. If you did not specify a postal address, the license will be sent to the address shown in the Population Register.
