Request approval of leave from National-Civic service due to exceptional illness
If you have missed more than 30 days of your National-Civic service, due to illness, you can apply to have your leave approved as service.
Who can apply
Volunteers in National-Civic service who have missed more than 30 days of the service year.
This service is free of charge.
How to apply
- Download and print the Request to approve leave due to exceptional illness form.
- Fill in the form and submit it to your coordinator in your recognized place of volunteering.
What will happen after submitting the application
The manager of supervision and control will consult with the occupational doctor and decide on one of the following decisions:
- To approve the leave or part of it, up to 90 days.
- To deny approval of the leave beyond 30 days.
- To approve termination of service due to illness or disability, for persons who have served at least one month.
- To deny termination of service due to illness or disability.
Notes
- If you miss more than the approved 90 days of leave, they will not be recognized as days of service.
- As of receiving the application, all communication regarding the application is made between the authority and the recognized bodies only.
- If the your request is rejected, you can submit your request to the Director General of the National Civil Service Authority for further review.
- If the number of work hours you are requesting is more than permitted hours (stated above), the place where you are volunteering can make a written request, together with all the documents to the Director General of the authority for consideration, on the merits of the request and the volunteers socio-economic status.
- Work permits are valid until the end of the service period, or until the volunteer changes place of volunteering or volunteer operating organization.
- This service and forms are provided in Hebrew. If you don’t speak Hebrew seeking assistance from a Hebrew speaker is recommended.
