Apply for a freight license
Find out what you need and how to apply for a freight license from the Ministry of Transport.
Who can apply for a freight license
To apply for a freight license you must:
- be a resident of Israel or a corporation registered in Israel
- have everything required to provide freight services, including parking for a commercial vehicle
- employ an manager
- for up to 5 motorized freight vehicles – the manager must pass a freight training course
- for 6 or more motorized freight vehicles – the manager must have a certification in freighting
- be under the supervision of a traffic safety officer
- for up to 5 motorized freight vehicles – your company must be under the supervision of a certified traffic safety officer or safety company authorized by the Ministry of Transport to provide safety services
- for 6 or more motorized freight vehicles – you must employ a certified traffic safety officer approved by the Safety Officers Division

- Complete and print the freight license application form
- Print and complete the required forms
- Submit your application, together with the required forms in one of the following ways:

Required documents
Attach the following completed forms to your applications:
- Professional personnel form
- Branches and sites form – if you have more than one branch
- Hazardous materials - personnel and permit form – if transport hazardous materials
- Vehicle details and cargo form – for each commercial vehicle you need the freight license for
- Vehicle safety officer checklist form for vehicles transporting hazardous materials
