Appeal the result of a practical driving test
If you’ve failed your driving test you can appeal for free. You need to request to view the video of your driving test within seven days of taking the test. After viewing the test video and marking it you can submit the appeal.
- All practical driving tests are videoed and stored for 30 days before being deleted.
- To appeal a failed driving test, you need to view and mark comments on your test video and submit it for appeal.
- If you have already paid for a new test, you cannot appeal your previous test.
Who can appeal a practical driving test result
- Anyone who has failed a driving test can appeal.
- You cannot appeal if you have paid for your next driving test or requested a test date
- You can only appeal your most recent test

How to appeal
To appeal you need to:
- request to view your driving test video within seven days of the test
- view the video at the testing school where you took your test
- mark at least one comment on the video
- submit the appeal
Note: If you have a "kosher" phone, you'll need to submit the application for appeal through your driving instructor or school,. They will help in the application process and request the test for viewing.
To view your test video:
- navigate to your online account on the Ministry of Transport website
- enter your ID number and mobile phone number and confirm
- enter the one-time code you receive to your mobile phone
- request to view your test video
- you’ll get a confirmation text to your mobile
Once you’ve received the confirmation text that your test video is available for viewing, you can:
- schedule a time to view your test at the testing school
- go to view the video and mark your comments - you’ll be given instructions on how to mark the video
- complete the appeal form:
- select the reason for your appeal: the tester’s conduct or a professional objection
- mark the test result points you are appealing
- explain in your own words your reasons for appealing
- submit your appeal with the marked video at the testing school or online
- a decision will be made within seven days. You,’ll get a notification to your online account and your driving instructor will get a text
Notes
- You can only view your video and mark it once.
- You can appeal for a test result once, and only your most recent test.
- You cannot apply for a driving test until your appeal has been resolved.
