Apply for a private investigation corporation licence
Use this service to apply for a private investigation corporation licence.
- At least one of the corporation owners or managers is a licensed private investigator and has been for at least five years.
- All the corporation members are licensed private investigators.
- The corporation is registered in Israel and there is no limit on the corporation owners' liability.
- The stated purpose of the corporation in the association articles is private investigation.
- The completed private investigation corporation form.
- A copy of each of the corporation managers’ and owners’ ID and appendix.
- Each of the corporation managers’ and owners’ resumes.
- A copy of the Companies Registrar registration document.
- The Companies Registrar report indicating the corporation managers’ and owners’ identity. The report must be up-to-date for the month in which the application is being submitted.
- A certified copy of the memorandum and association articles.
You must pay the private investigation corporation licence fee after receiving your licence, and when annually renewing your licence.

- After receiving your application, the licensing department will publish all applicants’ names on their website and registry in order to allow objections. The publication process takes two months.
- The licensing committee will make a criminal background check for each of the owners and managers and evaluate the application to decide whether to grant the licence.
- If the committee is considering to deny the application they will invite the owners and managers to a hearing to hear their reasons and be given the opportunity to respond.
- If the committee decides to grant the licence, the corporation will be sent a private investigation corporation payment voucher.
- The licence will become valid upon payment and sent to the corporation.
- The application handling time is approximately one month.
- If your licence application is denied, you can appeal the committee’s decision at a magistrate court.
