This service enables foreign nationals to apply for political asylum in Israel.
Who can apply
- Foreign nationals seeking to file an application for political asylum in Israel.
Attendance in person is obligatory at later stages of the political asylum procedure.

How to file the application
- Complete the application form in the English language online, in a full and detailed manner.
- Information must be entered in the relevant fields of the online form only.
- An application that is not filled properly will not be processed.
- Foreign nationals held in detention centers and wishing to apply must contact the detention center authorities. Applications for political asylum in Israel are processed in accordance with PIBA procedure number 5.2.0012.
What next
- Confirmation that the application has been sent, will be sent to the email address that the applicant provided in his application.
Completing the form and receiving the sending confirmation message is not a confirmation of the application.
- Once the information received has been processed and checked, a notification will be sent to the applicant regarding the time at which he/she should appear before the border control officer at the Enforcement Administration offices in the city of Bnai Brak. The notification will be sent according to the contact details updated by the foreign national in the online political asylum application form.
- After the border control officer has verified the applicant's personal data, the applicant will be requested to complete the application procedure, which includes an interview, and a license will be issued in accordance with the PIBA Procedure for Processing Applications for Political Asylum in Israel.
- Applicants will not be able to submit another application online: applicants who fail to appear before the border control officer for registration, and who request to submit a new application, will have to contact the Asylum Seekers Processing Unit by e-mail and explain the reasons for their failure failed to appear before the border control officer, as a condition for receipt of the application.
- Foreign nationals applying for political asylum and accompanying family members as stipulated in the application, will be required to appear in person as will be set out in the notification sent to the applicant.
- Foreign nationals who have not been notified of the date set for them to appear in PIBA offices, will not be allowed to enter PIBA offices in Bnei Brak.
Note
Applications submitted by unaccompanied minors, people suffering from mental health problems or victims of torture, will be handled with particular attention and with sensitivity to their particular circumstances.
