Get a duplicate boat license
Pay online, or at a post office with a payment voucher to replace a lost, stolen or damaged boat license. If you pay online you’ll get an email with a printable license. You license will be sent to your registered address after paying.
If your boat license (vessel license) has been lost, stolen or damaged, you can apply for a duplicate.
Pay for your duplicate license online (chrome browser only). Your license will be emailed to you and you can print it. It’ll also be sent to your registered address.
Pay for duplicate license with a payment voucher.
To request a voucher:
- call the Small Vessels and Cruises Division on 04-8632235 on Monday or Wednesday, from the 8am to 1pm
- book an appointment to get a voucher in person from thedepartment offices
Your duplicate license will be sent to your registered address.
You cannot get a refund after paying for a duplicate license.
Your boat license is only valid if:
- you’ve paid the license fee
- and your boat has passed its test
