Apply for status for great grandchildren of Jews, whose parents are eligible under the Right of Return
Children who have a Jewish grandparent, and whose parents have been recognized as eligible under the Right of Return, can use this service to receive Israeli citizenship.
Who can apply
- You must be under 18.
- Your parents must have been recognized as eligible for Right of return by the Jewish Agency or "Nativ" (The Liaison Bureau).
- Your must have a Jewish great grandparent.
What you need
- The child's foreign passport, valid for at least 2 years.
- 3 current passport photos of the child.
- The child's original authenticated birth certificate:
- If the certificate was issued by a government body or other official body in countries who are members of The Hague convention it must have an apostille stamp.
- For certificates without an apostille stamp, contact your nearest Israeli mission in the country where the certificate was issued.
- Certificates in languages other than Hebrew, English and Arabic must be translated to Hebrew and notarized.
- When applying to extend the validity of the status, parents must prove that the child's Center of Life is in Israel with their parents.

How to apply
- Download, print and fill in the Application for the extension of permit of residence/change of visa category.
- A biological parent must apply in person together with the child, and all the required documents, at any Population and Immigration Authority office.

The application form is in Hebrew. If you don’t speak Hebrew, seeking assistance from a Hebrew speaker is recommended.
