Apply for status for adopted children who are under 18, of persons eligible under the Right of Return
Parents of minors, adopted before making Aliyah to Israel, can use this service to apply for status in Israel for their adopted children.
Who can apply
- Adults of adopted children.
- You must be eligible by Right of Return
- You must have adopted the children you are applying for before making Aliyah (immigrating to Israel).
- The adoption must have been for genuine reasons and not in order to obtain status in Israel for the child.
What you need
- The child's foreign passport.
- The applying parent's Israeli passport or ID (if available).
- The original adoption documents that have been confirmed by the Jewish Agency.
- The child's original authenticated birth certificate.
- The court decision approving the adoption, including the hearing protocol.
- All official, foreign certificates and documents issued by a government body or other official body in countries must be authenticated.
- Certificates and documents issued in countries that are members of The Hague Convention must have an apostille stamp.
- For certificates and documents without an apostille stamp, contact your nearest Israeli mission in the country where the certificate was issued for instructions on how to get them authenticated.
- Certificates and documents in languages other than Hebrew, English and Arabic must be translated to Hebrew and notarized.
- When applying to extend the status, parents must prove that the child's Center of Life is in Israel with their parents.

How to apply
- Download, print and fill in the Naturalization Declaration form (Heb).
- Apply in person together with your child, and all the required documents, at any Population and Immigration Authority office.
