Apply for a stay permit for family members of clergy or students
Family members of clergy or students who are not Israelis, can use this service to apply for a stay permit.
If your application is granted, you will receive a temporary stay permit type A/2.
The maximum visa validity period is one year and includes an entry permit for the duration of the visa.
What you need
- A current passport photo.
- An original birth certificate.
- A valid passport for the six months beyond the stay permit duration.
- If the family member you are visiting is a student, they must have a valid student visa, type A/2.
- If the family member you are visiting is clergy, they must have a valid clergy visa, type A/3.
- Personal documents indicating the current and prior family status of the applicant, and relationship to the person being visited. These documents must be translated by a notary to Hebrew unless they are in Arabic or English. All documents must be officially authenticated:
- If the document was issued by a government body or other official body in countries who are members of The Hague convention it must have an apostille stamp.
- For documents without an apostille stamp, contact your nearest Israeli in the country where the certificate was issued for instructions.

You need to pay for each service individually, and not as part of a payment basket.
You can only pay with a credit card owned by an Israeli citizen or resident.
How to apply
Download, print and complete the Visa application form and submit it, together with the required documents in person to your local Population and Immigration Authority office or your local Israeli mission.
- Schedule an appointment to the visa department.
- Print and fill out the Entry visa or tourist visa extension application form, or fill it out at your appointment.
- Submit the form and required documents in person at a Population and Immigration Authority office or at your nearest Israeli mission.
- You must apply in person.
- A separate application must be made for each applicant holding an individual pssport.
- If the application is being made for a child under 18 they must be attended by a parent or legal guardian.
- You can pay for the application during your appointment, by credit card or in cash.
