Declare unwillingness to be an Israeli citizen for minors
Parents who live abroad can use this service to declare unwillingness to be an Israeli citizen for their children under 18 who have moved to Israel alone.
Who can apply
You can apply if:
- you’re an Israeli citizen
- you’re a foreign resident
- you’re child has moved to Israel without you
You’ll need:
- Israeli ID (if you have one)
- your child’s foreign passport with Oleh visa (the passport doesn’t have to be valid)
- parental consent
Parental consent
You’ll need one of the following:
- both parents’ consent given in writing or in person
- an original court decision or court approved divorce agreement stating that you have sole custody, or the right to make declarations for your child without the other parent’s consent
In Israel, you can submit a letter of consent notarized by an Israeli notary.
Abroad, you can submit a letter of consent notarized by a notary approved by your Israeli mission or that has an apostille stamp.
How to apply
- Download, print and complete the Declaration of unwillingness to be an Israeli citizen for minors under 18 (Heb)
- Apply in person at:
- a Population and Immigration Authority office
- or an Israeli mission in your country of residence
Someone can apply for you if they have your notarized power of attorney.
