Check eligibility for aliya for residents of the former Soviet Union
Citizens of countries of the former Soviet Union can use this service to check if they are eligible for Israeli citizenship according to the Law of Return.
Who can apply
- Persons born in countries of the former Soviet Union who live within the borders of those countries.
- You must apply in person.
What you need
- A passport that has been valid for at least six months.
- A color passport photo, 4 by 5 centimeters of each family member who is applying.
- Original birth certificates for each family member.
- Documents of marital status for each family member.
- Your parents’ marriage license.
- Your parents’ birth certificates.
- Certificates and documents of the grandparents.
- Death certificates of the grandparents or parents, if any.
- Employment records.
- Military records.
- Higher education diplomas, certificates and records.
- Certificates of good conduct for each applicant aged 14 years and older, authenticated with an apostille stamp.
- Any other document supporting your application on the basis of the Law of Return.
How to apply
- Make an appointment with your local official Israeli mission by phone or email.
- Each family member who is interested in checking their eligibility for aliya must attend at the same scheduled appointment with all the required documents.
