Check eligibility for aliya for persons born in the former Soviet Union who are not residents of the former Soviet Union
Persons born in the former Soviet Union, who no longer live in countries of the former Soviet Union, can use this service to check eligibility for making aliya to Israel on the basis of the Law of Return.
Who can apply
- Persons born in the former Soviet Union who no longer live in any of the countries that belonged to it.
- You must apply in person.
What you need
- Foreign passports valid for at least six months for each family member applying for eligibility.
- A passport photo in color, 4 by 5 centimeters, for each applicant.
- The original birth certificates for each family member.
- Documents of marital status.
- Parents’ marriage license.
- Certificates and documentation of the grandparents.
- Death certificates.
- Employment records.
- Military records.
- Higher education diplomas and certificates.
- Certificates of good conduct for each applicant aged 14 years and older, authenticated with an apostille stamp.
- Any other document attesting to the eligibility of the persons who wish to make aliya on the basis of the Law of Return.
How to apply
- Contact your local Jewish Agency and request a questionnaire.
- Complete and submit the questionnaire with the required original documents to the Jewish Agency.
Handling of the application
- The Jewish Agency will forward your questionnaire and documents to Nativ through the Jewish Agency headquarters in Israel.
- A representative of Nativ will examine your documents.
- The decision regarding your application will be forwarded from Jewish Agency to Israel’s diplomatic mission.
