Clarify Israeli status
Use this service to clarify your status in Israel if it is unclear.
Who can apply
- Persons whose Israeli status is unclear.
- Children must be accompanied by a parent or an adult with power-of-attorney.
What you need
- Any of the following documents in your possession. The more supporting documents you provide, the faster the handling time of your application.
- Your birth certificate.
- Your Israeli or foreign passport.
- A document indicating Israeli citizenship, such as a passport, ID card or other official Israeli document.
- Confirmation of inclusion in a Declaration of Unwillingness to be an Israeli of Israeli Citizenship.
- Evidence of residing outside of Israel in the relevant period.
- Evidence of foreign citizenship.
- Documents indicating enrollment in school or other educational institutes abroad.
- You may be asked to provide additional documents after applying.
- If you are applying for your child, you must also bring your ID or notarized power-of-attorney. Adults who are not the child's parent must bring notarized power-of-attorney.
The service is free of charge.
How to apply
- Download, print and fill in the Clarification of Israeli Citizenship form (Heb).
- Apply in person, together with the completed application form and supporting documents, to your local Population and Immigration Authority office.
