Get a population registry extract
Israeli citizens and residents can use this service to get an official population registry extract (certificate of registration).
Who can get a population extract online
You can apply online if you're:
- An Israeli citizen and resident currently in Israel
- Over 18
- Applying for yourself, or for your children who are under 18
If you are not in Israel, contact your local Israeli mission to find out how to get a population registry extract.
Instructions for generating a digitally signed population registry extract
- You can download a digitally signed population registry extract via the Personal Area in the Gov.il website.
- To access the Personal Area, you must be registered in the Government Identification System.
- To see your population registry extract and that of your minor children, select “Documents”. You can save the certificate on your cell phone or personal computer.
What you need when applying online
- You'll need your ID number and personal details
- If you are applying for your child, you'll also need their ID number and details
If you're applying for yourself or your children, you can also apply:
- at a self service stand - at a Population and Immigration Authority office or around the country
- by fax - fax the form to 02-6469442.
- by post - send the form: National Service Center, 42 Agripas Street, Jerusalem, Israel
The extract will be issued within 5 working days and sent to your registered address by Israel Post.
When do you need to apply in person
You need to apply in person for population registry extracts of:
- first degree family - your spouse, parent, child over 18, brother or sister. You'll need a signed letter granting you their power of attorney and their ID card
- relatives who are not first degree family. You will need their signed power of attorney drafted by a lawyer, or a court order
- a first degree relative who has died. If you need an extended extract you'll need a court order

The service is free of charge
Apply in person at a Population and Immigration Authority office, with the required documents and your ID card, for the extract of:
- anyone who is not a first degree relative
- anyone who is over 18
- anyone who has died
You will be given the extract at the office.
In all other cases you must apply in person at an authority office.
This service does not require scheduling an appointment with the Population and Immigration offices.
