Open placements for national civic service volunteers
Organizations and welfare agencies can apply for permission to open placements for national civic service volunteers. You'll need to get approval for operating the volunteers in your organization before you can apply to open the volunteer positions.
The Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs operates 696 volunteers nationwide in various welfare sectors.
You can find the deadline for application on the ministry website over December each year.
Who can apply to open a placement for national civic service volunteers
If you’re applying for the first time, you’ll need to apply for approval to accept national civic service volunteers in your organization, before you can apply to open placements.
The following bodies can apply:
- public authorities (as defined in section 2 of the Freedom of Information Law, 1998)
- public institutions (as defined in section 9 (2) of the Income Tax Ordinance)
- public benefit companies
- cooperative associations in the field of settlement
- social services departments responsible for welfare in a local authority
- The Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs units that need volunteers for ongoing activities
What types of placements can you open for volunteers
You can open placements for national civic service volunteers in:
- welfare for at risk children and youth in distress
- at risk children and youth
- families in distress
- women and girls in distress
- senior citizen welfare
- prevention of addiction
- care for people with physical disabilities
- care for people with developmental intellectual disabilities

How to apply
- Make sure you apply before the deadline.
- If you’re applying for the first time, you’ll need to get approval for your organization before you can apply to open placements.
Complete the relevant application form and send it to [email protected].
- Your application will be handled and you’ll get a response by May, at the discretion of the ministry.
- Volunteers can start their placement in September of the year after receiving approval.
