Authenticate Israeli Population Registry documents with an apostille stamp at Israeli missions abroad
Use this service to authenticate Israeli Population Registry documents with an apostille stamp at Israeli missions outside Israel.
- You can request to authenticate Israeli Population Registry documents issued at Israeli missions abroad.
- Documents intended for countries that are signatories to the Hague Convention will be authenticated with an apostille stamp.
- The documents are issued and signed in Israel and then sent to the mission by diplomatic pouch. The documents’ arrival time depends on the arrival time of the diplomatic pouch.
- Israeli missions abroad do not provide authentication services for documents for countries that are not signatories to the Hague Convention.
To authenticate a document intended for countries that are not signatories to the Hague Convention you must contact the relvant authority and produce:
- The original document signed and stamped by the registrar of the office where the document was issued in Israel.
- A signature and stamp of a Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs clerk.
- A signature of a representative of the country for which the document is intended, via that country’s consulate or mission in Israel.

- Foreign citizens who are applying for documents from the Israel Population Registry for:
- themselves,
- their children below 18 years of age,
- another first-degree relative.
If you are requesting the service on behalf of someone else, you must bring a letter stating the reasons for the request or a power-of-attorney.

How to apply
- Print and fill out the application form.
- Apply in person at an Israeli mission in your country of residence to request authetification with an apostille stamp.
- You must bring your ID card.
- If you are applying for an English birth certificate, fill out the application in English.
- If you are requesting a birth certificate for a minor (under 18), make sure to fill out the section for underage applicant at the top of the form.

What you need
- Israeli citizens must provide their nine-digit ID number.
- Citizens of foreign countries must provide their passport number and note that they are foreign nationals.
- First-degree relatives of the deceased and interested parties (such as attorneys and heirs) must submit proof of status.
How to apply
- Fill out the application form and apply in person with ID at an Israeli mission of their country of residence.
- You must bring an identifying document and request authetification with an apostille stamp.
- Make sure to fill out the top part of the form with your identifying information and that of the deceased.

The Population Registry extract will include the following information:
- ID number
- Full name
- Parents’ names
- Date and place of birth
- Date of immigration to Israel
- Citizenship
- Marital status
- Address
An expanded extract will also include:
- Previous names
- Children’s names and other information
- Names and other information regarding spouses and parents
- Previous addresses
- Date of marriage, divorce, widowhood
- Religion and ethnicity

What you need
- Israeli citizens: Photocopy of passport or Israeli ID card with a clear photograph.
- Foreign citizens: Photocopy of passport or laissez-passer used to enter Israel.
How to apply
- Apply in person at an Israeli mission of their country of residence with an identifying document.
- Request a certificate of criminal information.
- Request apostille authentification for the document.
Notes
- Once the application has been submitted at the Israeli mission abroad, it will be passed on to the Israel Police for handling.
- The certificate, with an apostille, will be sent to the applying body (according to the information provided on the application form) via the Israeli mission.
- The applicant will not receive the authenticated document.
- You can issue the document in Hebrew and in English.
