Application to obtain a legal status in Israel by virtue of a marital relationship with an Israeli citizen or permanent resident
This service enables Israeli citizens or permanent residents, who are in a marital relationship with a national of a foreign country, to submit an application for obtaining legal status in Israel for their spouse, by means of a graduated procedure. The aim is to maintain a sincere, real, exclusive and unique family structure in Israel, and to remain in the country alongside their spouse.
Important to know before filing the application
The application must be submitted online – the requested details must be filled in, the form scanned and all the requested documents added.
- If all documents are not attached, the application will be rejected.
- It is recommended to scan the required documents.
- Each document must be scanned separately and recto-verso (if applicable).
- We strongly advise you to save the document under the name of the form, and to keep all forms in one folder.
Using the online form for family reunification
- If for various reasons, applicants are unable to apply online, they must come to the information desk at the authority’s office near their area of residence and explain the problem.
- The clerk at the information desk will examine the issue and may, if necessary, consult the competent authorities of the office.
- If the clerk has reason to believe that there is indeed a problem with the application, he will provide the applicants with a list of the documents they need to submit together with their application, and he will arrange an appointment for them to submit their application.
- The requested fees must be paid.
- If additional documents are required after submitting the online application, the process of completing them will be carried out entirely via the online system.
- A request for a fee waiver - in accordance with procedure 5.1.0003 – should be submitted to the information desk at the relevant office.
Before submitting an application, please make sure that your residential address is updated to your current residential address. If necessary, an application for a change of address must be submitted.
