Reporting Drivers with Medical Conditions Affecting Their Driving Ability
This service allows physicians to report drivers with medically conditions who may put themselves and others at risk while they drive.
Physicians are obligated to report drivers with medical conditions who may pose danger while they drive to the Medical Institute for Road Safety. Article 12b of the transportation ordinance states: "A physician treating an individual under 16 years old who diagnoses a medical condition and believes the patient may be a danger to themselves or others while driving due to this illness, must report the illness to the authority determined by the Minister of Health".
The purpose of the report according to this section is trying to prevent car accidents the cause of which is known poor health of a driver.
Who should submit the report?
Physicians.
The service is free of charge
How to submit the report?
The report is submitted through an online form for reporting drivers with medical conditions that pose a driving risk (Hebrew). Before accessing the form, you must identify yourself through the National Identification System (the link to the form automatically redirects to the identification process before filling out the form).
You can also submit a paper form (available for download at the bottom of the page), but it is recommended to use the online form so that your report is entered directly into the MRB system (a printed form takes longer to be updated).
