Apply for a grant for self-employed hurt by the coronavirus crisis - first round
Businesses that have been hurt by the coronavirus crisis can apply for a special grant through their Tax Authority personal account.
The Tax Authority and the State of Israel wish to support businesses that have been hurt by the coronavirus crisis.
Here you can find out if you are eligible for a special grant and how to apply.
You need to apply by 1 July 2020.
Who can receive the grant
You will be eligible to receive the grant if:
- you were born in or before 1999
- your business was active continuously between 1 September 2019 to 29 February 2020
- you submitted your annual tax report for 2018
- for businesses established in 2019 the conditions and all income will be reviewed based on your 2019 report
- you reported taxable income over ILS 24,000 in 2018
- your total taxable income in 2018 was:
- if you are single - up to ILS 240,000
- if you are married - your joint total taxable income was up to ILS 340,000
- your March and April 2020 business turnover dropped by 25 percent compared to:
- March and April 2019 and VAT reports for these months, if your business was established before 1 March 2019
- your average monthly turnover, if your business was established after 1 March 2019
- your business has no accounting violations
You do not need to attach any documents
How to apply for the grant
- Enter your Tax Authority personal account
- Select coronavirus crisis business grant
- Complete the declaration stating:
- your business was active continuously from 1 September 2019 to 29 February 2020
- your businesses turnover in March and April 2020 decreased due to the coronavirus crisis, compared with March and April 2019
- Submit your declaration online by 1 July 2020.
Please note:
- If your business was established after 1 March 2019, the decrease in turnover will be based on your average monthly business activity, from establishment.
- If your business was established in 2019, you will need to file an annual income tax report for 2019 before you can apply. You will appear as not eligible in your Tax Authority personal account.
- Make sure that your bank account details are correct before sending the application. You can update them on the application form. The loan will only be paid to an account in your name or joint account in your name. It may take a few days to verify your account details. you'll get an email or text once your account has been verified.
- Anyone who has not updated their bank account details by Passover, will receive a message with details on how to do so in the personal account.
What happens next
- The grant will be paid 2 days after submitting the declaration.
- It will be paid into your bank account as it appears in your Tax Authority personal account.
- It will appear as “Aid for self-employed” (סיוע לעצמאים).
