Procedure for checking eligibility at the Ministry of Aliya and Integration
Examining eligibility for rights of a new immigrant for a person who received the status of a new immigrant in Israel, for someone born abroad to an Israeli parent (an immigrant citizen) a returning minor (left Israel before the age of 14) and a returning citizen.
Congratulations on your decision to live in Israel! Below you will find online procedures for different topics that will significantly shorten time for processing your request:
- A request to check eligibility for the status of new immigrant for those who received the status of new immigrant in Israel.
- A request to check eligibility for the status of immigrant citizen (Ezrach Ole) for those who were born abroad to an Israeli citizen parent and who has an Israeli ID number.
- A request to check eligibility for the status of returning minor (Katin Chozer) for those who left Israel before the age of 14.
- A request to check eligibility for the status of returning resident (Toshav Chozer) for those who resided abroad for more than two years. If a couple or a family are submitting a request for examination of eligibility for status of a returning resident, each member of the couple is required to fill in a separate form.
Any applicant who completed the form and attached the required documents must imperatively be in Israel physically and have established his place of residence in Israel.
Note: even those whose eligibility was examined and approved in principle before making Aliyah or before returning to Israel, must also complete the form, with the exception of the immigrant citizen whose request has already been processed and who has received his eligibility card at the Ministry branch office at the airport.
This form is not intended for new immigrants who still have some remaining rights, who did not realize all of their period of entitlements of a new immigrant in Israel (15 years) ("oleh gorer zakaut"). Those who are an "oleh gorer zakaut" should arrange an appointment with an absorption counselor through the app MyVisit
- The first questionnaire is directed according to your answers in order to determine the potential status which will be the most relevant to your data.
- Once your status has been determined, you will be directed to fill out a form so that the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration could check your eligibility, and you will have to attach the required documents as well as a passport photo.
- After completing the form and sending the documents for the status check, you will receive a message that your form has been received.
- Within a few days you will receive an answer regarding your eligibility as well as an appointment if you have been approved to receive your card and continue the process.
