About
MAHAT - The Government Institute for Training in Technology and Science, is a government body charged with regulating the training of certified practical engineers and technicians in the fields of technology and in unique and up-to-date specializations; this is to provide a proper response to the needs and demands of the economy.
A wide variety of study courses are taught (including minor courses and specializations) in educational institutions throughout the country that have received recognition from MAHAT to obtain a certified practical engineer's or technician's certificate
The studies take place in morning tracks or in a combined track (morning and evening).
Vision and policy
MAHAT will be an important factor in the development of human capital and in the training of certified practical engineers and technicians, in accordance with the needs of the economy and industry.
MAHAT will be a partner in outlining the policy of upgrading the workforce in the economy and industry in the training courses under its supervision.
MAHAT will be a central factor in initiating projects, in creating new courses of study and different study tracks, to help the economy and industry facing changing needs.
Goals and objectives
A. To provide the student population with an educational and/or professional response in technological professions:
- Expanding the circle of students in the certified practical engineers and technicians track.
- Increasing the number of graduates receiving diplomas.
- Making the studies in the engineer and technician track accessible to populations with a low participation rate in the workforce.
- Making the studies accessible according to the goals of the office.
B. Promoting the quality of training in colleges:
- Determining quality standards for training in the areas of: teaching infrastructure, physical infrastructure and financial management.
- Developing and updating the courses of study for certified practical engineers and technicians, in response to the needs of the economy, regarding professional content, training methods, and available and effective resources.
- Participation in college budgeting in order to promote the quality of training.
- Consultation and control of the training process.
C. Expanding and deepening the connection between the colleges that received recognition and employers in the economy.
D. Positioning the status of the engineer in society, economy and industry.
Departments at MAHAT
The Department of Planning, Budgeting and Control
- Concentration of requests for recognition in educational institutions for the training of certified practical engineers and technicians
- Concentration of budgeting requests for colleges with training of engineers
- Receiving student data in the computerized system of MAHAT
- College budgeting and implementation, monitoring and control
The Pedagogical Department
- Responsibility for the quality of the training of the students in the colleges
- Responsibility for training curricula: development, adjustment and change in accordance with the needs of the economy, in cooperation with employers
- Professional development of the lecturers in the technological colleges, in the disciplinary, pedagogical field, and the acquisition of skills in accordance with the needs of the labor market
- Leading and creating an infrastructure in colleges for the development of professional and pedagogical quality in teaching
- Development of support mechanisms for students, to promote social leadership
Examinations Department
- Conducting state final exams in all courses of study, checking them and publishing the grades
- Approval of adjustments for examinees in state final exams
Department of Certificate Studies and Continuing Education
- Professional control over the studies in the technological preparatory school
- Conducting state final exams for the technological preparatory school, checking them and publishing the grades
- Approval of adjustments for examinees in state final exams of the technological preparatory school
- Approval of graduation certificates for graduates of the technological preparatory school
- Pedagogical and professional training for college faculty
Supervision Department
- Professional control over the teaching quality and infrastructure in all courses of study
- Providing professional advice to the teaching staff in the colleges on issues related to the teaching of the subjects required by MAHAT
- Professional approval regarding curricula, state final exams, final project proposals and more
Treatment of special populations and special projects
- Handling special projects
- Assistance in the admission of new immigrants in colleges
