Application to Shorten or Extend the Stay of Proceedings Period in a Family Dispute
This service allows you to submit an application to the court for approval to modify the duration of the stay of proceedings period in a family dispute.
The duration of the stay of proceedings period in a family dispute prior to submitting this application is:
- 60 days – from the date the application for dispute resolution was submitted, pursuant to the Law.
- 75 days – in cases where the Legal Aid Unit (Yechidat HaSiyu'ah) determined to extend the period, in accordance with the authority granted to it under the Law.
The purpose of this service is to allow the duration of the stay of proceedings period to be adjusted based on the circumstances:
- To extend the period beyond 75 days in order to fully exhaust the mediation process.
- To shorten the period in order to advance the legal proceedings without further delay.
Application Form (Form 7): All fields in the form must be completed in an orderly and comprehensive manner, in accordance with the attached instructions, to ensure that all relevant information is properly submitted to the court.
- This application is subject to a court fee. The applicable fee is set out in Section 7 of the Family Court Regulations (Fees), 1995.
- Payment must be made through the methods detailed on the "Charges and Payment Methods in the Court System" page.
- If you are unable to pay the fee, you may submit an application for a fee waiver due to financial incapacity.
The application must be submitted based on your legal representation:
If you are not represented by an attorney
- The application must be submitted in one copy to the court, plus additional copies corresponding to the number of defendants.
- The court secretariat will handle the service (delivery) of the documents to the opposing party in the case.
If you are represented by an attorney
- The application must be submitted in one copy.
- The attorney bears the responsibility to serve (deliver) the documents to the opposing party in the case.
- Please note: If you wish to receive updates from the court after submission, you must include your mobile phone number and email address in the application.

Frequently Asked Questions – National E-ID System Registration
- Verifying Your Attorney Status after logging in, ensure you are identified as an attorney: your attorney license number should appear in the upper left corner, rather than your personal ID (Teudat Zehut) number.
- If your personal ID number is displayed, you can change this by clicking the small arrow next to the number.
- If the arrow does not appear and you cannot select your attorney license number, you may not be registered as an attorney in the Net HaMishpat database. To register, fill out an online registration form by visiting the Net HaMishpat website and clicking the bottom link in the center of the page: "Add a New Attorney on the Net HaMishpat Website."
- Instructions for Submitting the Application
- Click the "Open Case" button.
- Select the relevant fields for Court, Case Type, and others.
- Check the "Power of Attorney" checkbox.
- If you wish to pay via Direct Debit Authorization rather than a credit card, you must select this option at the exact stage of checking the "Power of Attorney" box. Otherwise, you will not be able to select it later.To select Direct Debit:
- Click the "Counsel Details" (פרטי בא כוח) button.
- Go to the "Bank Account" (חשבון בנק) tab and verify the account details for billing:
- Enter the bank account details and click the "Verify Data" (אימות נתונים) button.
- The bank account details must match the firm's account details currently on file in Net HaMishpat.
- If the account details do not match, you must update them in Net HaMishpat. For an explanation on how to do this
- If you wish to pay by Credit Card or if you have a Fee Waiver, you do not need to click the "Counsel Details" button.
Submitting Appendices with the Application
- Additional documents can be uploaded using the designated "Browse" (עיון) button, under the heading "Attach Accompanying Documents" (צירוף מסמכים נלווים).
- Documents must be in PDF format only. Each file uploaded to the system must not exceed 30 MB.
- The application form must be printed, filled out, signed, and submitted along with all the required documents.
- The application can be submitted manually during business hours at the secretariat of the relevant court.
- District-wide Submission אhe application may be submitted at any court within the district as detailed in the table, regardless of the specific court where the case is being conducted, for any of the cases for which this service is available within the district.
- Payment of the application fee will be processed at the court secretariat at the time of submission.
- Online Appointment Scheduling for the Court Secretariat
- An appointment can be scheduled online for the court secretariat’s public reception desk in order to submit the application.
- The application may be sent by registered mail to the Family Court holding local jurisdiction.
- Fee:
- The fee must be paid as detailed in the "Fees" section on this page.
- The receipt must be attached to the application.
- Any application sent without a receipt for the exact amount will be rejected.
Submitting Appendices with the Application
The application and its appendices must be attached and sent together.
The application cannot be submitted by fax.
After the application is submitted, it is forwarded to the court for a judge's decision.
The submission of the application does not change the existing status quo until a judge renders a decision on the matter.

Upon completing the application submission, a confirmation number (reference number) will be issued. You can use this number to track the opening of the case and obtain the case number in two ways:
In the Attorney Area
- Under the "Track My Submissions" tab, view recent submissions, their confirmation numbers, and their processing status.
- Review the processing status
- This can be done after the end of the business day following the day the application was submitted.
Via the Top Menu Bar on the Website
- Click on the "Submissions" tab to open a drop-down window, then select "Locate Submissions by Reference Number"
- Enter the confirmation (reference) number into the designated field and click the "Locate" button at the bottom left of the page. The processing status of the submission will then be displayed.
- Reviewing the processing status: This can be done after the end of the business day following the day the application was submitted.
- Once the case has been opened, the case number will appear.
- Review the case file by clicking directly on the case number.
- After entering the case file, the file folders will be displayed on the right-hand side.
- Upon completing the submission, a case number will be issued. You must then await a judicial decision in the case.
- You can check whether a judicial decision has been rendered in the case via the Net HaMishpat website:
- Upon entering the site, click the orange button in the upper right corner to authenticate via the National E-ID System or using a Smart Card.
- Following the authentication process, enter the case number into the top menu bar on the website, click the "Locate" button, and you will then be able to review the file.
- If the Case Number is Forgotten or Unknown:
- Click on the "Locate Cases" tab and select "My Cases"
- Enter a date range to generate a list of cases, from which the correct case can be selected.
- After entering the case file, folders will appear on the right-hand side. Go to "Paper File" where all documents in the case will be displayed, including decisions
You must track the delivery of the mail to the court, and await the end of the business day following its arrival for the case to be opened.
Afterward, you can track the progress of the application's processing on 'Net HaMishpat' in the following ways:
Applicants who are not represented by an attorney
- If an email address was updated in the application, update notifications will be received from the court.
- To read the notifications, click on the link within them, which will lead to Net HaMishpat.
- On the Net HaMishpat website, click the orange button in the upper right corner to authenticate via the National E-ID System. Following the authentication process, an envelope icon will appear next to the ID number; clicking it will open notifications from the court. In this manner, the court will notify when the case is opened, and a case number will be sent.
- Another way to check if the case has been opened on the 'Net HaMishpat' website after logging in via National E-ID:
- Click on the 'Locate Cases' (איתור תיקים) tab, select 'My Cases' (התיקים שלי), and choose a date range for the search.
- A list will be generated, from which you can select the relevant case, and then click on the case number to review it and check if a decision has been rendered.
Attorney
Can check the processing status of the case on 'Net HaMishpat' via the 'Locate Cases' (איתור תיקים) tab and selecting 'My Cases'
- Select a court and a range of opening dates.
- If the case has been opened, a case number will appear, and you can click on the number to enter the case.
Note
To view cases in which the attorney represents – in the upper left corner of the website, the attorney license number is listed rather than the personal ID number.
