Application for a Driving Instructor Permit
This service allows you to apply for a driving instructor permit to become a certified driver instructor from the Ministry of Transport Licensing Authority
Who can submit an application
- Drivers who are at least 21 years of age.
- Drivers who have held a class B driver's license for a vehicle with a manual transmission for at least 3 years.
- Israeli residents (citizen or permanent resident).
- High school graduates, or graduates from a ministry of Labor mechina (preparatory program), or graduate with a Bachelor’s degree, or technicians or practical engineers.
For your information, when submitting the application with the district supervisor, authorization to review criminal records must be signed.
What must be attached to the application
Attach at minimum confirmation or certificate indicating the necessary education:
- Certificate confirming 12 years education from an academic institution or from the Ministry of Education or from a Ministry of Education-approved mechina
- Bachelor’s degree
- Practical engineer certificate
- Technician’s certificate
The service is provided free of charge
How to submit the application
Book an appointment in advance for the nearest branch to your residence, and to arrive in person with the required documents to one of the licensing bureaus;
What happens next
The licensing bureau will update the applicant of the following details:
- Compliance with the requirements of Regulation 15b in accordance with the certificate of good conduct issued in Licensing
- Passing psychotechnical tests and compatibility tests at an employment screening institute as to be determined by the License Authority
- Passing medical and eye exams
- Passing practical driver’s competency test of the License Authority
- Successful passing of the driving instruction course
