Medical Interpretation Center *5144
To improve communication between medical personnel and patients, the medical interpretation center at *5144 provides spoken translation services.
Before starting
The National Healthcare Insurance Law (Hebrew) and the Director General's Circular 07/2011 (Hebrew) on Cultural and Linguistic Adaptation and Accessibility in the Health System. are the basis for the center's work. By law, all residents of Israel have a right to health care, regardless of their background .
Who can get this service?
The service is provided to:
- Public hospitals, health bureaus
- HMOs and medical centers that have an agreement with the Ministry of Health to provide this service.
This service is free of charge.
How to get this service
- If healthcare professionals do not speak the language of the patients, they can call the interpretation center during an appointment.
- The interpreters will facilitate communication between healthcare professionals and patients by translating what is said.
