License to Operate a Wireless Station in the Maritime Field
This service provides information and makes it possible to submit an application to the Ministry of Communications for an operating license for a wireless station in the maritime field.
Those who wish to operate a wireless device, intended for use on a vessel floating on the water or resting on the seabed, are required to have a wireless license that is suitable for the maritime sector.
- A vessel, registered with the Shipping and Ports Authority (SPA) and has a registration certificate or sailing certificate.
- A ground station that is one of the following: A coastal station, rig, electronic navigational aids including buoy and lighthouse, port or marina observation station, lifeguard station or station for laboratory purposes.
- Make sure that the wireless device has a valid type approval.
- An application can be submitted for type approval, using the service page: Application for the Approval of Communications Equipment.
- The Administrator – the person in charge of managing radio frequencies and who reports directly to the Director General of the Ministry, according to the Wireless Telegraph Ordinance [New Version], 5732 - 1972.
- A wireless license is issued pursuant to Section 4 C of the Wireless Telegraph Ordinance [New Version], 5732 -1972 and pursuant to the Wireless Telegraph Regulations (Licenses, Certificates and Fees), 5747 - 1987.
- The required documents must be filled out and attached according to the application: The Application Form for a License to Operate a Wireless Station in the Maritime Field.
- For vessels – a copy of the registration certificate or sailing certificate of the Shipping and Ports Authority (SPA) must be attached.
- In accordance with the rates as published in the Wireless Telegraph Regulations (Licenses, Certificates and Fees), 5747 - 1987, or any other revision notice that will replace it.
- It is possible to pay through the Government Payment Server according to the instructions on the payment voucher.
