The Israeli Teratology Information Service provides advice and guidance on safety or birth defects related to pregnancy as a result of drug abuse, substance abuse, exposure to infections, radiation, chemicals, maternal diseases, and environmental toxins. The information is based on global and Israeli data and research.

The service is provided to pregnant women, breastfeeding women, physicians, nurses, social workers pharmacists and the general public.

  • You will get a full explanation on potential risks to the fetus and advice what tests you can take to diagnose potential birth defects.
  • After the call, you can ask for a risk assessment letter.
  • If the pregnancy or fetus is not at risk, the risk assessment letter will be sent to you.
  • If the pregnancy or fetus is at risk, the risk assessment letter will be forwarded to your healthcare provider.
  • In urgent cases, physicians can call a physician of the Israeli Teratology Information Service.
