If you are concerned about risks before or during pregnancy or breastfeeding, you can ask for a free consultation with the Israeli Teratology Information Service. You can also pay for a consultation.
The Israeli Teratology Information Service provides advice and guidance on safety or birth defects related to pregnancy as a result of drug abuse, substance abuse, exposure to infections, radiation, chemicals, maternal diseases, and environmental toxins. The information is based on global and Israeli data and research.
Who can get a consultation
The service is provided to pregnant women, breastfeeding women, physicians, nurses, social workers pharmacists and the general public.
Phone consultation and consultation meeting

- Free of charge phone consultation with professional staff
- You will get a full explanation on potential risks to the fetus and advice what tests you can take to diagnose potential birth defects.
- After the call, you can ask for a risk assessment letter.
- If the pregnancy or fetus is not at risk, the risk assessment letter will be sent to you.
- If the pregnancy or fetus is at risk, the risk assessment letter will be forwarded to your healthcare provider.
- In urgent cases, physicians can call a physician of the Israeli Teratology Information Service.
- Consultation meeting
- If your pregnancy or fetus is at a significant risk, you can set a paid in-person consultation at the center at 39, Jeremiah Street, Jerusalem.
