Application for a car dealer license
This service allows you to apply for a dealer license to trade in new (from importers) or used vehicles.
Who can apply
- Residents of Israel who meet the condition of not having been convicted of or indicted on criminal offenses or disciplinary offenses.
- A corporation where the CEO and at least one interested party is an Israeli resident.
What to include with your application
- A photocopy of your ID or the certificate of incorporation.
- A valid rental license with an attached declaration by an attorney or commercial municipal tax certificate attesting to the applicant’s possession of an office measuring at least 10 sqm.
- Applicants who only seek a license for dealing vehicles from importers must also attach a certificate from an accountant regarding their equity (see Appendix 2 of the provisions of the procedure for a dealership license):
- To sell up to 150 vehicles in a year - 500,000 ILS
- To sell more than 150 vehicles in a year - 1,500,000 ILS
Payment options
Pay the annual fee as established in the regulations.
Holders of commercial importer licenses who seek a dealer’s license are exempt from the dealership fee and must pay only the difference if the dealership license fee is more costly.
Dealers in cars from importers who also want a license for used vehicles (or vice versa) are entitled to an exemption from the additional fee.
How to apply
- Fill out the application for a car dealer license.
- Make an appointment at the district licensing office and submit your application along with the required documents.
The license is granted for a period of up to 6 years.
- The license will only be valid after the fee is actually paid. Any licenses with unpaid fees will be annulled. Information about invalid licenses is transferred to Israel Police for enforcement.
- The license is personal and untransferable.
