Application for a License or License Renewal for Practitioners in Asbestos-Cement or Friable Asbestos
This service enables the submission of an application for the issuance or renewal of a license to engage in asbestos work. The service is intended for contractors, authorized employees, supervisors, and surveyors.
Workers engaged in asbestos work must hold a license issued by the Asbestos Licensing Administration of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, according to their type of occupation:
- An individual who is a registered contractor.
- A corporation.
- An authorized employee of an asbestos-cement or friable asbestos contractor.
- A friable asbestos supervisor.
- An asbestos surveyor.
Issuance of a License or License Renewal for an Asbestos Contractor – Individual or Corporation
- ID number or Private Company (P.C.) number as it appears on the contractor license for civil engineering works (Registrar of Contractors). For a corporation: a Certificate of Incorporation must also be attached.
- A photocopy of a valid registration certificate, pursuant to the Registration of Contractors for Civil Engineering Works Law,1969.
- Details of the managers and authorized employees of the applicant.
- For license renewal, the license number according to the Registry of Asbestos Operators must also be provided.
Issuance of a License or License Renewal for an Authorized Employee, Supervisor, or Surveyor
- Photocopy of the ID card addendum (Sefach) showing the applicant's registered address.
- Professional training course completion certificate.
- Confirmation of participation in a professional development day.
- Authorized Employee: Certifications of experience in performing construction works.
- Supervisor: Certifications of experience or practical training in friable asbestos works or insulation works with similar characteristics.
- For license renewal: The current license number must be provided as it appears in the Registry of Asbestos Practitioners.
Asbestos Contractor or Corporation
Step A:
- An Application for Approval of an Asbestos Operator form (Authorized Employee, Supervisor, Surveyor) must be completed for each authorized employee, along with the required documents.
- The declaration and the consent for a criminal record check within the form must be printed and completed manually for each authorized employee. The authorized employee must sign the declaration in the presence of an attorney.
- The signed declaration form must be scanned and attached to the online form. It is recommended to save the online form to your computer before submission for future use.
Step B:
- An Application for an Asbestos Contractor License form must be completed. The names of the authorized employees and the reference numbers of the forms completed on their behalf must be specified, and the required documents must be attached.
- The declaration and the consent for a criminal record check within the form must be printed and completed manually for each company director. Each director must sign the declaration in the presence of an attorney.
- The signed forms must be scanned and attached to the online form. It is recommended to save the online form to your computer before submission for future use.
Friable Asbestos Supervisor or Asbestos Surveyor
- An Application for Approval of an Asbestos Operator form : Authorized Employee, Supervisor, Surveyor must be completed, and the required documents must be attached.
- The declaration and the consent for a criminal record check within the form must be completed manually for each authorized employee. The declaration must be signed in the presence of an attorney (a surveyor is not required to complete the consent for a criminal record check).
- The signed form must be scanned and attached to the online form. It is recommended to save the online form to your computer before submission for future use.
Care must be taken to provide accurate and complete data. Please ensure the operator's phone number is entered correctly. This number will be published in the Registry of Operators on the Ministry of Environmental Protection's website.
- The Air Pollution Prevention and Asbestos Department at the Ministry of Environmental Protection will process applications according to their order of arrival and the proximity to the expiration date of the existing license.
- The application for license renewal must be submitted starting from three months prior to the expiration of the license.
