Apostille Certificate or a Certificate Not According to the Convention
This service is intended for those requesting an authentication certificate (apostille or a certificate not according to the convention) – for notarized certifications of public and legal documents from Israel, in order to present the authenticated documents abroad.
- Apostille Certificate
- Intended for the authentication of public documents issued by Israeli courts, and for signatures on notarized documents, so that they will be recognized in another country where the applicant must present them.
- It is accepted only in countries that are parties to the Hague Convention (1961). For the list of the Convention countries.
- Non-Convention Certificate (issued under the Notaries Law, 5736–1976)
- Intended for the authentication of public documents issued in Israel, for countries that are not parties to the Hague Convention (1961).
- This certificate must also be confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the courts and the regional labor courts, it is possible to authenticate two types of documents by an Apostille Certificate or a Non-Convention Certificate:
- Notarial – authentication of a notary’s signature on notarized documents.
- Public documents issued by Israeli courts – authentication of judicial judgments and judicial rulings rendered by the courts and by the regional labor courts in the State of Israel.
- An identification document (identity card or passport).
- For an application for authentication of a notary’s signature, the signed documents to be authenticated must be brought.
- For a Non-Convention Certificate – no court fee is required.
- For an Apostille Certificate – a court fee of NIS 41 must be paid for each certificate.
- (Pursuant to Regulation File 6656, dated 18 March 2008 a fee will be charged for an Apostille. The fee is updated annually on January 1.)
Please Note:
- Commencing January 1, 2026, the fee is NIS 41.
- Payment vouchers from previous years may not be used. An updated voucher for the current year only must be obtained.
- A refund may be requested for a fee that was paid, but not used, at the Court Secretariat.
Payment for an Apostille fee may be made:
- At the Court Secretariat – credit card only.
- At a post office branch – cash, after receiving a payment voucher from the court secretariat.
- Through Gov.il — Remote Payment. you must bring two copies of the payment confirmation (receipt). For an instructional presentation on how to make a payment (Hebrew).
- Online - On the Net HaMishpat website, it is possible to obtain a digital Apostille Certificate only for public documents issued from case files of the courts or the regional labor courts — judicial rulings and/or judicial decisions.
Steps to obtain a digital Apostille Certificate:
- Loggin in to the Net HaMishpat website.
- Identify yourself through the National Identification System.
- Enter the court case number.
- Click the “Rulings in the Case” icon and select the document to be authenticated by digital Apostille.
- After opening the selected document, click the "Apostille Application" icon.
- Select the requested country from the list of countries.
- Enter your details: email address and mobile telephone number.
- Click the icon "Payment for Digital Apostille Fee".
- After payment, a confirmation message will be sent to your email or mobile phone, including instructions on how to view and save the Digital Apostille Certificate.
- If confirmation is not received, you will receive instructions by email or mobile phone on how to complete the application correctly.
Important - After payment and receiving confirmation, you must enter the payment confirmation number into the system and click "Confirm" to complete the process; otherwise, the payment will not be linked to your application.

- In person - It is possible to obtain an Apostille Certificate or a Non-Convention Certificate in person at the public service desk of the court secretariat.
Some of them offer appointment scheduling.
- At the secretariats of the courts and regional labor courts it is possible to receive an Apostille Certificate or a Non-Convention Certificate according to two types of documents:
- Public documents issued by Israeli courts.
- Notarial signatures on notarized documents.

Authentication of public court documents in Israel
- Apostille certificates or certificates not issued under the Convention for the authentication of public documents from the courts in Israel shall be provided at any court or labor court, except for the Supreme Court, the National Labor Court, and the Local Affairs Courts. In some instances, an appointment may be scheduled.
- Authentication of a ruling or judgment for countries that are parties to the Hague Convention will be issued with certified-true-to-original stamp and an Apostille.
- Authentication of a ruling or judgment for countries that are not parties to the Hague Convention will be issued with a certified-true-to-original stamp and a Non-Convention Certificate.
Every Non-Convention Certificate requires additional confirmation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Notarial documents
- Apostille Certificates or Non-Convention Certificates for authentication of a notary’s signature are issued by an authorized signatory at the court secretariat, according to the information listed in the Register of Notaries held by the Department of Notary Licensing at the Ministry of Justice.
Service Hours at the Courts
- The service is provided during the regular public-reception hours of the courts:
Sunday through Thursday, 08:30–13:30. - During court recess periods, check the updated operating hours of the courts and regional labor courts during recess periods.
- In urgent cases, applicants may contact the unit manager or district manager.
- Some courts and regional labor courts offer appointment scheduling.
Each appointment may include up to 10 certificates.
- In person at the court or labor court — the Apostille Certificate or the Non-Convention Certificate is issued immediately.
- Online — the digital Apostille Certificate is issued immediately. This how to view and save a digital Apostille Certificate:
- Open the Apostille file in Adobe Acrobat Reader. To do so
right-click on the file “Open With” choose Adobe Acrobat. (to download Acrobat Reader.) - It is possible to view the electronic signature details by clicking the red seal on the Apostille.
- It is possible to open the court certificate by clicking the tab appearing on the left side in the "Attachments" panel.
- The Digital Apostille Certificate is saved for 3 months in your personal area on Net HaMishpat. Therefore it is recommended to save the file on your computer.
- On eRegister.justice.gov.il, it is possible to verify the authenticity of all electronic Apostille Certificates issued in Israel.
- A printed copy of a Digital Apostille Certificate is not valid abroad.
A printout of a Digital Apostille Certificate has no legal validity. - If a notarized translation of the Certificate is required, the list of authorized notaries and the languages for which they provide translation services can be found on the website of the Department of Notary Licensing at the Ministry of Justice.
