The Division for Intelligence, Integration and Ministerial Committees is responsible for the preparation of integrative national situation reports for the National Security Council and the political echelon. These reports are based on information from the intelligence community, in cooperation with foreign affairs and security bodies and the policy and planning divisions in the NSC.
The Division is responsible for coordinating the activities of the National Security Council to prepare for ministerial committees and groups in matters pertaining to national security, especially for the Security Cabinet. The division also briefs and provides information to ministers who are members of the committees.
The Division's Responsibilities:
- Formulating integrative national situation reports (intelligence reports covering various fields, as well as political, operational and security activities) for the prime minister, government ministers and the cabinet on an ongoing basis. In addition, the Division provides regular updates on current events in Israel and around the world.
- Operating the national situation room around the clock.
- Coordinating the prime minister's directives with government ministries and foreign affairs and security bodies, and monitoring their implementation.
- Responsible for security discussions held by the Security Cabinet as well as other ministerial committees including:
- Drafting the content and agenda of Security Cabinet meetings and ministerial committees in the fields of foreign affairs and defense.
- Preparing and running the Security Cabinet meetings, as well as the relevant ministerial committee meetings. This is done as needed, in coordination with the Cabinet Secretariat and other political and security bodies and government ministries.
- Monitoring the implementation of Security Cabinet and ministerial committee decisions and issuing implementation reports on national efforts.
- Updating ministers in the Security Cabinet, providing information and giving frequent professional briefings for meetings of the Security Cabinet and ministerial committees.
- Formulating a 100-day plan to determine the main policies and national agenda when a new Cabinet comes in.
- Supporting the NSC's efforts in combating terrorism by:
- Publicizing the threat of terrorism (Global Jihad, Iran and the Shiite axis, local terrorist groups) in various countries in the world to Israeli citizens through the travel warning system.
- Formulating guidelines and codes of conduct for citizens abroad.
