Geodesy and Enforcement

The Geodesy and Enforcement Division is responsible for developing and maintaining the geodata infrastructure in Israel. This infrastructure is being used as a basis for all mapping and measurement operations such as: planning and executing engineering-based projects in the mapping field, as including measurements for registration purposes.

In addition, the division is in responsible for authorizing and registering surveyors, as well as for conducting enforcement on surveyors according to the measurements ordinance.

The division's areas of activity are as follows:

1. Specifying the national geodata (ellipsoid and parameters).
2. Specifying the national coordination network (levy and parameters).
3. Developing and maintaining the national control networks: three dimensional, horizontal and vertical.
4. Operating permanent GNSS stations network.
5. Developing and improving the national postcards model.
6. Framing the measurements standards and the Administration's guidelines and their updates.
7. Authorizing and registering certified surveyors in Israel.
8. Control and supervision for surveyors according to the measurements ordinance, the measurements regulations and the Administration's guidelines.
9. Reviewing the measurements-control points using various geodata methods and at various levels of precision by certified surveyors.
10. Field review for Cadastral maps.
11. Measuring the sea level in Israel.
12. Measuring the north magnetic field in Israel.
13. Providing a service on the north and geographic magnetic field.
14. Conducting an overall inspection for the station's devices (electronic range gauge).
