Goals and Duties
The Spokesperson, PR and International Relations Department is responsible for providing an adequate expression of the Ministry’s policy and that of the Minister leading it, on subject the Ministry is responsible for in land, air and sea areas, as well as for developing international relations in the transportation field.
The purpose of the Department is to present the various activities of the Ministry and its corporations to the general public, through spokespersons, advertising and PR on various media. This, while placing an emphasis on the level of service, improving the image of the Ministry of Transportation and presenting it as a leading ministry that impacts the growth of the economy.
The Department helps Ministry management in managing strategy and managing relationships with the public and with the media, while increasing public trust of the Ministry and emphasizing the Ministry’s activities in the media and with the public. At the same time, the Department serves the public and is committed to share organizational information with maximum flexibility regarding the organization, it policy and its activities.
The Department is responsible for publishing information and providing explanations to the public via news articles, columns, radio and TV programs, public service announcements, preparing and distributing press releases, organizing media events, responding to press queries on subjects the Ministry is responsible for, from media in Israel and abroad, monitoring the media coverage of all publications pertaining to the Ministry, handling Ministry of Transportation campaigns and more.
In addition, the Ministry is responsible for advancing and reinforcing international relations between the Ministry and Israel and foreign countries, by expanding and deepening international and bilateral agreements, joining international treaties, tightening relations with ministries of transportation in foreign countries and with international transportation institutions and organizations, holding information sharing workshops, hosting delegations and ministries in Israel and organizing visits by the Minister and General Manager in other countries, in order to advance the State's interest in these countries and the interests of bodies operating in the transportation industries in Israel.
PR Department
- “The People’s Prices” campaign intended to inform the general public about a new service that allows people to learn about used car deals carried out by them, and learn about the real market prices on the basis of ongoing transactions.
- “The Station” app campaign intended to inform the public of a new option for paying on public transportation via smartphone app, launched by the Ministry of Transportation.
- “Pleasant Future” local campaigns intended to inform the public on changes in public transportation lines, carried out as part of public transportation streamlining and reorganization processes in various towns across the country.
- Announcing changes in the services of the Ministry of Transportation and public transit, due to Covid-19 restrictions in the past year.
- PR work for the Irregularities Committee for entering and exiting Israel, headed by the Ministry of Transportation.
- Announcing changes in the services of the Ministry of Transportation and public transit, due to Operation Guardian on the Walls.
- PR and instruction regarding the massive transportation program to Mt. Meron at Lag Ba’omer.
- Accompanying Ministry corporation campaigns.
- Providing an ongoing response to press queries and issuing ongoing announcements of Ministry activity.
- Analyzing the Ministry's media coverage.
