The Administration deals with the operational aspects of the entirety of various components of the land transportation infrastructure in the State of Israel: railroads, highways and public transportation.
The Administration is responsible for creating optimal integration between the various transportation systems and prepares multi-year plans for developing transportation in Israel and improving safety levels.
Vision and Goals
An advanced, safe, fast and accessible transportation system is the “national catalyst” for economic and social development and for improving the quality of life for Israeli citizens as a whole.
The Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination Administration was established in 2007. The Administration deals with the operational aspects of the entirety of various components of the land transportation infrastructure in the State of Israel: railroads, highways and public transportation.
The Administration’s Duties
- Creating optimal integration between the various transportation systems
- Preparing multi-year plans for developing transportation in Israel and improving safety levels.
- Formulating the comprehensive yearly work plan as a derivative of the multi-year work plan.
- Budgeting transportation projects subject to testing economic feasibility.
- Improving the city’s physical infrastructure
- Connecting the periphery to the center and improving accessibility to employment centers.
