About
Most of Israel's national infrastructure runs through the Central district, due to its location. this includes: roads, trains, gas and fuel pipelines, electricity lines, and more - all of which run both north to south and east to west.
The area is characterized by a high population density and by the close proximity between the population and possible sources of environmental hazards and nuisances makes; these will intensify even more in the coming years.
As such, some of the main tasks of the Central district office are:
- the reduction of risks related to environmental hazards and nuisances,
- finding solutions for waste treatment, and
- preserving the few open spaces in the district.
