Data Breach event at Shirbit

The Capital Market Authority, Insurance and Savings and the Israel National Cyber Directorate are updating on a data breach event concerning the insurance company Shirbit. Last night, the company, with the help of the INCD, began to investigate a suspected cyber event on the company's website and servers, carried out by hackers.

An initial inspection indicates that this concerns information about customers' insurance details.

In a joint effort of the Capital Market Authority and the INCD, the investigation continues.

Following this, the INCD, together with the Capital Market Authority, will clarify the guidelines for the institutional entities.
