Deal with Moderna company: tripling the number of vaccines that will be provided to Israel in 2021

Joint announcement – the Prime Minister’s office and the Ministry of Health:

Directed by Prime Minister Netanyahu and Minister of Health Edelstein, the Ministry of Health signed a deal with Moderna company to triple the number of vaccines that will be provided to Israel in 2021, from 2 million vaccines to 6 million vaccines, that will be enough for 3 million people.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “I’m happy to announce that today we signed a deal with Moderna for the provision of 6 million vaccines, for you, people of Israel. That is three times the amount in the original agreement with Moderna. This gives us hope. We see the light in the end of the tunnel. Until then we need to follow the rules. Our goal is to bring vaccines, your goal – to follow the rules. If we do this – we are going to win. Together, we will defeat the Corona.”

Minister of Health Yuli (Yoel) Edelstein: “This is wonderful news for the Israeli people and for the Israeli economy. There will not be a single citizen who will want to get vaccinated and we will not be able to provide a vaccine for him. Professional teams have started strenuous work on the means of vaccine distribution. But it will take several more months until we are all vaccinated, we must all follow the instructions and avoid becoming complacent.”
