Women's Rights Supervisor

The Women's Rights Supervisor and the General Director’s advisor for promoting women’s status coordinates activities related to gender equality and promoting women in the Ministry of Environmental Protection. In addition, they are in charge of implementing the Sexual Harassment Prevention Law and represent the MoEP in Knesset committees that discuss matters related to women’s status.

The supervisor’s work plan includes the following matters:

1. Raising awareness regarding gender equality and gender-biases that the team and decision-makers are unaware of, by initiating activities of propaganda, training and refreshment courses regarding gender equality, realizing rights, empowering women and equal opportunities.
2. Collecting data and monitoring the MoEP’s manpower according to gender and position levels, and reporting according to a gender index that was developed by the Civil Service Commission.
3. Activities for raising awareness to work-life balance and translating it into the organizational culture, transitioning to protocols that provide concessions for pregnant women, parents with young children, etc.
4. Taking measures against gender-based violence, including treating sexual harassment claims, accompanying lawsuits and dealing with gender-based and domestic-violence inquiries.
5. Treating gender equality by recruiting employees especially for senior positions.
