The Student Authority
About
The Student Authority was founded in 1964, and focuses on three main areas:
Encouraging aliyah, counseling, and guidance: this service is for candidates in Israel as well as those who have not yet made aliyah and are still overseas. It includes information about study options in Israel and conditions of registration and acceptance, and advice about choosing a study track.
Assistance (social, academic, social-services): social integration and absorption, personal guidance by the staff of counselors throughout the country, trips to familiarize students with the country, seminars, community volunteer work, preparation for employment, activities for social and cultural integration in Israel, psychological support when needed, social services, tutoring, and academic support.
Monetary assistance: tuition scholarships, monthly subsistence grants for particular populations.
The Student Authority staff guide new-immigrant students throughout the period of studies in various educational institutions, in ulpan studies, and preparatory programs.
