International Relations Department

The International Cooperation department coordinates global environmental activities with outside parties, alongside the Multilateral Environmental Agreements department.

The department's objective is to strengthen Israel's international standing in the global arena, by aligning itself with advanced international standards of regulation and environmental action, as well as to promote issues related to the environment in Israel. It does this in various ways, including:

• Involvement with international environmental forums
• Strengthening relations with individual countries, as well as bilateral cooperation on environmental issues
• Identifying and accessing knowledge and expertise from around the world on environmental issues
• Promoting regional cooperation with neighboring countries on cross-border environmental issues
• Environmental diplomacy
