District Office - Judea and Samaria

The Judea and Samaria District of the Ministry of Environmental Protection is located on the mountain ridge and spans from Mount Gilboa in the north to the Hebron Mountains in the south, from the Jordan Valley in the east to the Green Line that borders it in the west.

The unit functions both as the Judea, Samaria, Gaza, and Crossings District of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and as the Staff Officer unit for environmental protection affairs in the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria. In addition, the unit works to implement the policy of the Ministry of Environmental Protection in the Judea and Samaria area, by virtue of the security legislation, within the administrative framework of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories and the Civil Administration.

The unit serves as a regulator for environmental affairs in the Judea and Samaria area and works to promote the protection and preservation of the environment and to manage natural resources and environmental hazards in a complex geographic and governmental reality of cross-border pollution.

The Staff Officer unit directs the David unit for inspection and enforcement operations in the crossings areas by virtue of the Order Regarding the Transfer of Goods (Judea and Samaria) (Number 1252) regarding waste transfers to the areas of Judea and Samaria.
