About
The Central goal of the Division of Authorities, Organizations, and Community is to assist new immigrants to integrate into Israeli society. To further this goal, the Division establishes close cooperation with local authorities, with organizations and associations , and implements coordinators for new immigrants (proyectorim) within the local authorities, programs for community absorption, and provides social services for new immigrants who are in need.
The activities of the Division of Authorities, Organizations, and Community include:
- Hebrew study- ulpan and assistance vouchers
- Informal education- The "Pele" program, "A Computer for Every Child," the "Mechubarim" program, and more
- Support and empowerment for particular immigrant populations- Bnai Menashe, immigrants from Caucasia, and more
- A range of cooperative enterprises with the local authorities (for example, through the coordinators for new immigrants) Cooperation with organizations and associations
- Social services- assistance to new immigrants in distress, crisis, or difficulty (within the framework of social work perimeters)
- Assistance for the integration of immigrants from Ethiopia in Israel
- Activities of the Authority for Prisoners of Zion and Martyrs
