About 

The Division's functions:

• Promoting and assimilating the green building field in Israel according to ISO 5281 – sustainable building – and according to the international standardization.
• Making information regarding green buildings in Israel accessible to professionals and the public.
• Developing and coordinating standards and protocols for environmental efficiency in the standardization that is being used by the Building Branch.
• Professional development and promoting the training of those who deal with the Green Building Branch.
• Forming a strategy to minimize environmental effects of products and services, and promote its implementation in the law, standardization and labeling.
• Promoting environmental standardization and updating protocols to meet environmental goals.
• Promoting and regulating environmental labeling in order to create production, operation and product use guidelines for buildings or different organizations, including in the field of circular economy and of zero greenhouse gas emissions economies.
• Representing the environmental aspect of the standardization committees according to government decisions.
• Professional guidance of the MoEP representatives in the different committees in order to present and promote environmental interests.
• Promoting initiatives in the Division's abovementioned purviews in cooperation with different entities.
