Six months ago, the Minister of Economy and Industry, Mr. Eli Cohen, was invited to participate at The Global Entrepreneurship Congress that took place in Bahrain between April 15-18th. The congress was organized, among others, by the World Bank. The Global Entrepreneurship Congress is held every year in a different location and this year it was in Manama, Bahrain’s capital city.
The congress is composed of two main events: Ministerial gathering and a business summit.
Mr. Eli Cohen was invited to participate at the ministerial gathering that took place on April 15th. Due to the elections in Israel and inner political considerations the Minister was obliged to cancel his participation.
To remove any doubts: There was no difficulty from either the Bahraini side or the organizers regarding the Minister’s participation. All appropriate permits were given for his arrival. The trip was canceled due to the proximity of the congress to the date of the general elections in Israel.
