What is the qualifying threshold?

The qualifying threshold is a numerical limitation which prevents a list of candidates from entering the Knesset. In order to prevent the existence of multiple parliamentary groups, the legislative body determined a qualifying threshold of 2% of total valid votes (the qualifying threshold was formerly 1%, then 1.5%). A list of candidates receiving less than 2% may not participate in the division of mandates.

What is a platform?

A platform is a system of principles and basic guidelines for action as published by a list of candidates for election to the Knesset. The platform represents that list’s ideological visiting card and familiarity with it enables voters to place a considered vote for any particular list.
