The Central Elections Committee budget as published in the press amounts to NIS 194m. Election Committee expenses include: NIS 12m. to cover police costs on Election Day; NIS 5m. to the IDF for conducting elections among soldiers; NIS 2m. for security at polling stations; NIS 140,000 to create propaganda films; and NIS 45,000 in payments to workers on Election Day. |

Elections to the 17th Knesset are due to be held in Israel on March 28th, 2006. Approximately five million voters will go to the polling booths and elect the nation’s leaders for the next few years. |

| Voters Register for the 17th Knesset |
According to a notice from the Ministry of the Interior, the Voters Register for the 17th Knesset contains 5,018,287 voters, who will vote at approximately 8,500 polling stations around the country. The Voters Register will be closed on February 2nd, 2006.
The Ministry of the Interior offers a telephone service where the public may verify whether they are listed in the Voters’ Register.

| Receipt of Notice to Voters |
The Ministry of the Interior delivers to every citizen who is entitled to vote a Notice to Voters, to arrive no later than 21 days prior to the elections. If you are entitled to vote and do not receive a Notice to Voters, you should apply to the Ministry of the Interior via the Population Administration offices around the country.

| Submission of resignation of public office holders |
Further to a notice from the Ministry of the Interior pertaining to the elections, civil servants, IDF officers, police officers and prison warders wishing to contend for a place in the Knesset must submit their resignation no later than December 18th, 2005 (17th Kislev, 5766). |
