The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption has launched a series of campaigns and events in order to appeal to Israelis residing abroad to return home, in honor of Israel’s 60th anniversary.

Special conferences for returning Israelis
The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption and the Jewish Agency invite Israelis residing abroad to participate in conferences near their areas of residence and hear about special benefits for those wishing to return to Israel. The conferences will take place during the end of March and the beginning of April in Europe and North America.

Representatives of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption and the National Insurance will be present to describe the special benefits, listen, advise and convince Israelis to return home.

Information will be available on the following subjects:
 Employment: job placement, professional retraining, courses, contact with prospective employers
 Business Entrepreneurship: setting up a business in Israel or transferring an existing business.
 Taxation: information about the Israeli tax system and taxation for the self employed.
 National Insurance: information about eligibility for national health insurance.

Absorption of Scientists
Absorption of researchers in the areas of science and medicine in research institutes, academic institutions, industries and hospitals. A special array of services and assistance has been set up to assist Israeli scientists wishing to return including: advice, accompaniment, professional guidance, contact with potential employers and a subsidy of employment costs.

Two new specialized programs have been launched in order to attract returning scientists:
• Absorption of scientists in Bio-Tech companies
• Absorption of physician-researchers in hospitals
