| Aid Package for Sderot and the Western Negev |

More than 300 million NIS, among other benefits to residents, to be invested in structural reinforcement of educational institutions in communities adjacent to the Gaza Strip.
The aid package was approved by the government for 2010, and includes a series of benefits in the infrastructures, education, social welfare, employment, etc. The goal of the decision is to continue strengthening the communities in the area in order to provide stability, increase social and civil strength and improve local authorities' and residents' ability to cope.
The benefits to local residents and businesses will include:
Local rate discounts of 35% for residences and 25% for factories and businesses
Personal income tax discounts of 20% will be extended for 2010
Exemptions on rents will be extended for 2010
The activity of 5 centers that offer psychological and social services will continue on their present footing
Emergency medical services for area communities will continue
Sderot and the other local authorities in the area will also receive further grants:
15 million NIS in order to deal with the implications of the security situation
2 million NIS will be allocated to upgrading factories in the Sderot Industrial Zone
14 million NIS will be invested in building reinforced daycare centers
Approximately 40 million NIS will be invested in structural reinforcements at educational institutions
51 million NIS will be allocated for upgrading local authorities' sewage infrastructure so as to allow them to deal with communities' expansion
